The January updates have been added to our website. Please check out the Wish Lists, Greatest Hits and Newsletters.
I am so pleased, and grateful, to announce that we have received a PTO mini-grant to purchase a very nice easel for the classroom. We are expected to create many "anchor charts" which is difficult without a dedicated place for the chart paper. Our new easel should arrive soon. I'll post a photo when it does.
To recognize and honor the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr. I would like to show the class a 60 minute video about his life called, "Our Friend, Martin". It has an all-star cast and wonderful music. If you haven't seen it, you are welcome to borrow our copy. This will link to some reading that we will do on the same subject. If you do NOT want your student to see the video, please let me know.
Ask your student about our Number Talks!
We are collecting US state quarters in Social Studies. Ask your student which states they have been "assigned". It might be fun to collect all 50 at home too. Each quarter depicts something unique about the state.
Stay warm and safe this winter. I received some lovely gardening shoes for Christmas. I am already dreaming of spring planting!
