I hope you are all warm and dry and excited for vacation. Please check out our February updates to the website on the home page, photos/videos, and newsletters.
Please ask your student to show you the Vacation Math Review Packet. I am very sorry to send work home over vacation but with the snow days we had to postpone our Topic 11 test. The packet will help them to review and prepare for the test which will be on Tuesday, February 24th.
The Peanut Butter Valentines is an MHS initiative to collect peanut butter and jelly for the local food pantries. It has been run over the years by sisters who 'graduated' from the Roosevelt School. Each year 4-I has been one of the top donors. Our goal is to donate 22 jars. We are off to a good start with eight so far. If possible, please send an unopened, unexpired jar with your student before February 27th.
On the home page you will see photos of the kids posing with our new easel. We are grateful to the PTO for the funds to purchase the easel, and also to Mr. Mrozowski and his crew for assembling it for us.
Remember that after school extra help is generally available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 3PM. Some Wednesdays are also available. Just let me know when your student will be staying.
When I saw the kindergarteners recently preparing their 100 Day t-shirts, I honestly felt a pang of sadness. I can't believe this year is more than half over. This class is one of the best ever, and I hate to think that it is almost time for them to move on.
Perhaps I shouldn't think of the 'class half empty', but still half full. We'll continue to work hard and have fun all the way to the end. And if it continues to snow like it has, I will enjoy spending July 4th holidays with them. ;)
