Happy Holidays!
The kids decorated our classroom today for a variety of holidays. It has taken on a very festive air! The school-wide holiday party is on December 16th. Winter Wonderland shopping is on December 17th.
Report cards went home today. Please sign the envelope and return it to school. The report card stays with you. Don't be distressed if your student received several "P" grades. At this time of the year, nearly all students are "progressing". You will certainly see more "meets" and "exceeds" standards on the next report card. If you have any questions about the grades, please let me know.
We will take the topic 8 math test on Friday.
Our Storytown reading tests are generally each Monday. I have been encouraging the kids to take their books home on Friday so that they can re-read the story and perhaps discuss it with parents. Be sure to ask your student about this week's story, The Stranger, by Chris Van Allsburg.
Check our December newsletter for more curriculum details.
Scholastic book orders are due by December 12th to ensure delivery by vacation. If you would like to keep the order a secret, just let me know,
Follow the Photo/Video link to see the picture of our class from the Mayor's Blog. The mayor's assistant told me that they loved the photo.
That's all for now. The time between Thanksgiving and Winter Break is short! Vacation begins at noon on December 23rd. I hope you enjoy some relaxing time with your family.
